Subject + is/are/am + verb(…ing) + object


1. Present continuous tense is used for actions that are happening at the time of speaking, or for actions that are happening around the time of speaking.

  • We are learning present continuous tense now
  • I am attending gym classes now (He may not be in gym right at this moment)
  • He is not listening to me at all

2. Present continuous tense is also used for future actions that we have planned and are going to do soon

  • We are going to cinema tonight
  • She is starting her new job on Sunday
