Commerce includes all the activities that involve in transferring goods from the producer to the final consumer. Therefore, commercial activities involve trade and aids to trade.
Trade is defined as buying and selling of goods with a view to make a profit. There are two types of trade; home trade and foreign trade. Home trade is trade within the country. Home trade is divided into wholesale trade and retail trade. Foreign trade is the trade carried on between people of different countries. Foreign trade is further divided into export trade and import trade.
Aids to trade
Trade cannot be easily carried out without aids to trade. So aids to trade are the various activities carried out to help carry out trade. Aids to trade include finance, insurance, warehousing, and communications. Communications is grouped into transport, telecommunications, post office, and advertising.
